Predicting Who Will Win the Stanley Cup

Our first series focused on the 2025 NHL playoffs and demonstrated how you can build a story to predict the winner of the Stanley Cup – including both what to do and the pitfalls to avoid.

This story works backward; it starts with a single, flawed social post and ends with a series of social posts designed to provide updated predictions for the Stanley Cup winner after each game.

Rising through the ranks, he now leads the senior team and has been a vital part of the squad for the last five years. Our end goal with this data story will be to translate the series into a scrollytelling story.

In this data story, we'll explore the Coachella Effect through the lens of four Spotify metrics to see if we can predict the next big breakout artist.
