Analyzing NHL player data to predict the outcome of Olympics hockey
As part of our online course, we recently published Module 3 of the Sports, AI and Storytelling course. This is a living course, where we add lessons and content weekly – with a new module being born each month.
In this module, we explored the top four competing nations for the 2026 Olympic Men's Hockey tournament (USA, Canada, Sweden, and Finland) in an attempt to predict who would win the gold medal.
The module is broken into four lessons.
Module 3: Discovering Who Will Win the Gold Medal for Men's Hockey
- Lesson 1: The Big Question
- Lesson 2: Show Me the Data
- Lesson 3: Stats and Methodology
- Lesson 4: Data Analysis and Visualizations
- Lesson 5: Discovering the Storyline
