On 08/13/26, we're hosting the second workshop in a 3-part series on data storytelling for sports focusing on turning stats into published story using AI.
If you're a beginner and aren't sure how to take your stats and turn them into a story, then join us on August 13th at 6PM EST. In this session, we'll focus on how to design your data storytelling content with the help of AI and explore the pros and cons of different modalities (e.g., socials, reels, articles, etc.).
On August 13, 2026 at 6PM EST we'll be hosting another free workshop called From Story to Screen: Design and Publish Your First Sports Data Post.
A great data story is one part data analysis and another part design; bringing them together is a core skill in data storytelling.
In this free, hands-on workshop, we'll explore different ways to leverage AI to create and design your sports data story. You'll learn how to choose the right format for your story, use AI tools to speed up production, and design visuals that land without being a professional designer.
What you can expect from this workshop:
- An understanding of the storytelling framework – and how you can apply it to building and designing sports data stories.
- Hands-on experience designing a social post or carousel using PowerPoint and Canva.
- A practical AI toolkit with tools such as Midjourney for imagery, Runway for animation and ElevenLabs for voice-over.
- How to assemble the different ingredients – data, narrative and visualizations – into a publishable story.
This is an introductory session that is geared towards creators, journalists and data analysts who want to level up their ability to create data-driven sports stories using AI.
