Ferrari Returns to an Old Favorite
Formula 1 heads to Singapore this weekend, and Ferrari will be hoping Marina Bay has a little something left for them. It’s a track that has given the team plenty to celebrate over the years, although their more recent visits haven’t exactly gone as planned.
Sorry Ferrari fans, you probably don’t need another reminder of that.
Still, returning to a place where you’ve had success always gives you a reason to think, “Maybe this is the weekend.” That’s what Ferrari will be hoping as Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton take on the Singapore streets.

Can they give fans another race to remember, or will it be one they’d rather forget?
Some Good Memories to Work With
To understand why Ferrari might be looking forward to Singapore, it’s worth looking back at what the team has done here. In 2019, Sebastian Vettel took the win with Charles Leclerc right behind him in second, giving Ferrari a one-two finish. That result produced an average Drive Score of 50.5, the highest of any team at Singapore that year.

Ferrari also recorded the highest average Drive Score of any team at Singapore in both 2022 and 2023, scoring 35 and 38.5, respectively. Carlos Sainz added a win from pole in 2023, giving the team another reason to enjoy its trip to Marina Bay. Those results show that Ferrari’s success here goes beyond one memorable race, even if the last couple of visits have been a different story.
Not Quite the Singapore Ferrari Remembers
Ferrari’s more recent trips to Singapore haven’t brought the same success. In 2024, the team’s average Drive Score fell to 21.5, placing it second among constructors as McLaren led the way with 43.5. Ferrari still had a respectable result, but the gap to McLaren was clear.

Things slipped further in 2025, when Ferrari’s average dropped to 10 and the team ranked fourth. Neither Charles Leclerc nor Lewis Hamilton finished in the top five, leaving Ferrari well short of the results it had enjoyed here just a few years earlier. For a team with that kind of Singapore history, there’s certainly room for a better weekend.
Ferrari’s Singapore Shift in Numbers
Putting Ferrari’s 2019 and 2025 Singapore performances side by side makes the change pretty clear. Its average Drive Score fell from 50.5 to 10.0, a difference of 40.5 points. The team went from leading the constructor rankings with a one-two finish to ranking fourth, with both drivers outside the top five.
Of course, those races were six years apart, so this comparison doesn’t tell us exactly what to expect this weekend. What it does show is how far Ferrari’s recent results have fallen short of its best nights at Marina Bay. Getting back to that level would be a big ask, but improving on the last two visits would be a good place to start.
Can Ferrari Beat the Odds?
Looking ahead to this weekend, Drive Score ranks Charles Leclerc fifth with a predicted score of 20, just three points behind Lando Norris at 23. Lewis Hamilton follows in a tie for sixth with Oscar Piastri, both scoring 15. Ferrari is within reach of both McLaren drivers in the predictions, but neither Leclerc nor Hamilton makes the model’s top three.

Max Verstappen leads the predictions with 38, followed by Kimi Antonelli at 35 and George Russell at 29. That leaves Ferrari with some ground to make up if it wants to return to the front at Marina Bay. The numbers don’t point to a repeat of that 2019 one-two, but we're sure Ferrari fans would happily settle for proving the prediction wrong.
Looking Ahead to Singapore
Ferrari heads into Singapore with plenty of good memories, but this weekend is about giving fans something new to celebrate. Drive Score suggests Leclerc and Hamilton will have their work cut out for them, with Verstappen and both Mercedes drivers setting the pace in the predictions.
A return to the podium would give Ferrari a reason to feel better about its recent trips to Marina Bay. A win would give fans even more to talk about, although we should probably let qualifying happen before getting too carried away.
Can Ferrari rediscover its Singapore success, or will the team leave Marina Bay still searching for answers?
